British Army Soldiers process Iraqi Enemy Prisoners of War (EPW) at a compound in Umm Qasr, Iraqi, during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Each EPW is seen by a dental and medical technician and is given a blanket, dental hygiene products, and personal hygiene products.

UMM QASR, Iraq (March 10, 2004)-Members of the newly formed Iraqi Riverine Patrol Service (IRPS) and Damage Controlman 2nd Class Brian Callon, 33, from Indianapolis, Ind., (r) of U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment 203 discuss security positions while conducting a dockside inspection of a 250-foot container ship suspected of oil smuggling with conflicting claims of registry. This was the first combined operation in the Iraqi Port of Umm Qasr involving the U.S. Coast Guard, Iraqi Riverine PatrolService, Royal Marines and Royal Navy. Members of LEDET 203 searched the vessel while the British trained IRPS, Royal Marines and Royal Navy provided security. Coast Guard LEDETs frequently deploy aboard U.S. Navy ships, and they are considered specialists in vessel boardings and shipboard investigations. The ICDF will provide anti-smuggling, policing, search and rescue and various other capabilities along the Iraqi coastline.

Umm Qasr, Iraq (Mar. 28, 2003) -- The Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Landing Ship Logistic RFA Sir Galahad (L 3005) arrives in the Iraqi port city of Umm Qasr delivering the first shipment of humanitarian aid from coalition forces. Sir Galahad, with a capability of carrying approximately 400 troops, with a beaching capacity of 3,440 tons, is the first ship to deliver coalition humanitarian supplies in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. It is currently loaded with 232,300 Kg. of supplies for the people of Iraq. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein. CTU-55.4.3 consists of U.S. Naval Special Clearance Team-1, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Units 6 and 8, Fleet Diving Unit 3 from the United Kingdom, and a Clearance Dive Team from Australia, all are conducting deep/shallow water mine counter measure operations to clear shipping lanes. Umm Qasr, Iraq (Mar. 28, 2003) -- Bottled water is delivered by crane to the port of Umm Qasr. Coalition forces are providing support for the off-loading of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Landing Ship Logistic RFA Sir Galahad (L 3005). The British ship is the first vessel to deliver Humanitarian Assistance (HA) supplies at the coalition secured port destined for the Iraqi people.
