Jánský vrch jižně od centra města, kaple sv. Jana Křtitele postavená v barokním slohu (1712–1715). Podél zdi kaple jsou umístěny náhrobky pruských a rakouských důstojníků padlých v bitvě u Trutnova v roce 1866.

Historical Overview
The Battle of Trautenau or Battle of Trutnov was fought on 27 June 1866, during the Austro-Prussian War. It was the only battle of the war that ended in an Austrian victory over the Prussians, but at a large cost.
