The model (located in the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence) shows the eastern end of the Lugou bridge in Beijing, with the western gate of the Wanping Castle in the right background. One can see two matching huabiao columns on both sides of the roadway. Qianlongs Moon over Lugou stele (in a gazebo), and Kangxi's bridge rebuilding stele (on a bixi tortoise) are on the north side of the roadway. 中文:zh:筲箕灣

Marco Polo Bridge Incident Army Position

At the south wall of the Wanping Castle in Beijing. The spot damaged by the Japanese shelling during the Marko Polo Bridge (Lugouqiao) Incident in 1937 are marked with a memorial plaque. The text on the row of black stone drums along the walls tells the story of the War against Japan that followed the incident.
