A U.S. Navy McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II of Fighter Squadron 92 (VF-92) "Silver Kings" is launched from the waist catapult of the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CVA-64) operating in the Gulf of Tonkin, 9 May 1972. Ling-Temco-Vought A-7E Corsair II of Attack Squadron 146 (VA-146) "Blue Diamonds" and VA-147 "Argonauts" are in the foreground. The squadrons were assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 9 (CVW-9) aboard the Constellation for a deployment to Vietnam from 1 October 1971 to 1 July 1972.
